About the role

Travel nursing position in South Charleston, South Carolina. Drivers license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility. Previous permanent candidates must be gone for 2 years, and previous travelers there for 1 full year must be gone for 2 years.

Unit: OR RN with 6 suites and an average of 22 cases per day. Common cases include scleral buckle, vitrectomy, corneal transplants, cataracts, minor general surgery, minor spine stabilization procedures, spinal cord stimulators, ENT procedures, and dental.

Responsibilities

• Scrub and circulate ambulatory surgery procedures
• Perform cataract and cornea procedures independently
• Serve as Charge Nurse or House Supervisor (not in the One Day Surgery Building)
• Adhere to call requirements: minimum of 1 weekday call shift per week, every other weekend call, and rotating holiday call (30-minute response time)
• Float to other surgical departments if required
• Follow provided scrub color/dress code
• Complete hospital orientation and unit-specific orientation in ODS
• Use EPIC charting system

Requirements

• 2 years minimum experience as an ORT
• Experience in ophthalmology, including independent performance of cataract and cornea procedures
• BLS (AHA) certification

Schedule

• Day shift position, Monday–Friday, 06:45 AM–3:15 PM (may extend later to complete cases)
• No self-scheduling or block scheduling
• Call may be required for weekends and after hours
