Travel Nurse RN - Oncology - $2,265 per week

Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Oncology for a 13-week assignment in Wausau, Wisconsin.

About the Role

A Medical Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) position is available, involving specialized nursing care within an Oncology unit. This role supports surgical and medical oncology patients in a collaborative healthcare environment on a night shift schedule.

Schedule

• Shift: Nights (12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Start Date: 08/17/2026
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Holiday Rotation: Every other holiday

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care for oncology patients, including surgical and medical oncology cases
• Float to other areas within scope as needed (4-hour blocks; float before staff RNs)
• Adhere to hospital policies, including mandatory mask-wearing during flu season for those declining vaccinations

Requirements

• Wisconsin RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience as an RN, with at least 1 year on a Medical Surgical Oncology unit preferred
• Oncology experience required
• Previous electronic charting experience (Epic EMR preferred)
• Experience with MedSurg Oncology patients, Alaris pumps, and medication scanning (Rovers)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing

Unit Details

• Patient Ratio: Typically 4:1 or 5:1 on days/evenings; night shift may have up to 7:1 but usually 5:1 with tech support
• Unit may staff more RNs when C.N.As are unavailable
• Scrub color: Any color
