About the role

Coordinate and provide family-centered nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents, utilizing the nursing process. Accountable for professional practice including independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions performed in collaboration with other health team members.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide family-centered nursing care to infants
• Care for infants requiring assisted ventilation including high frequency ventilator (JET and Oscillator), conventional vents, and non-invasive methods (bubble CPAP, RAM cannula, HFNC – high flow nasal cannula)
• Provide pre- and post-op care of critically ill newborns, including those with trachs
• Care for pre-term infants, including the extremely low birth weight (ELBW) population
• Apply strong knowledge of developmental care

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) with 2 years of NICU experience
• MN RN certification
• BLS and NRP certifications
• Willingness to float between all three hospitals as needed:
  • Children’s MN at 2525 Chicago Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55404 (Units: Special Care Nursery (SCN), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and Infant Care Center (ICC))
  • Children’s MN at 345 Smith Ave N, St. Paul, MN 55102 (Unit: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU))
  • Allina Mercy at 4050 Coon Rapids Blvd, Coon Rapids, MN 55433 (Unit: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU))

Pay

Pay Rate: $3,516.00 - $3,697.00 per week. Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 48 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
