About the role
This travel nursing assignment provides specialized care to neonatal patients in a Level 3 NICU or higher. The role focuses on critically ill newborns, including micro preemies, preemie growers, and patients with congenital or surgical conditions. The position supports a rotating shift schedule primarily during night hours, with potential weekend and holiday shifts.
Responsibilities
- Assess neonates and provide specialized nursing care
- Perform IV placement and administer medications
- Manage feeding and vent/CPAP care
- Handle titratable drips such as Dopamine, Dobutamine, Prostaglandins, Insulin, and Sedation
- Potential float shifts to PICU, Inpatient Pediatrics, and Labor & Delivery units
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a Level 3 NICU or higher
- BLS Certification (required)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (required)
- ACLS and PALS certifications (preferred)
- EPIC electronic medical record system experience (preferred)
- Must hold a valid RN license and be willing to wait for licensure submission if necessary
Schedule
- 12-hour shifts, primarily night shifts
- Rotating schedule with minimum 36 hours per week
- Start date: 09/07/2026
- End date: 12/07/2026
Unit Details
- NICU registered nurses with 2+ years experience
- Neonatologist on-site 24/7
- Respiratory therapy equipment available
- In-unit nurse aids with a 2:1 ratio per shift
- Orientation provided by NICU clinical preceptors
