Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit Neurological (ICU Neuro) registered nurse position in Wausau, Wisconsin. This role involves providing specialized care in a neurocritical care unit, focusing on neuro assessments, bedside ICU procedures, and management of neuro patients including stroke, TBI, and neurosurgery cases. The position requires adaptability to a rotating shift schedule and the ability to manage a high acuity patient population.
Job Details
Location: Wausau, WI
Shift: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Day/Night variables)
Guaranteed Hours Per Week: 48 hours
Start Date: 08/03/2026
Certifications: Wisconsin RN License, BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC), NIHSS all required
Minimum Experience: 2 years minimum with 1 travel assignment preferred, background in Med/Surg ICU and/or Neuro ICU with strong assessment skills in Neuro required
Charting Experience: EPIC preferred
Unit Information: 8-bed Neuro unit caring for stroke, TBI, head injury, and neurosurgery patients; experience with EVDs and ICP monitoring preferred
Primary Procedures: Neuro assessments, bedside ICU procedures including line placement, intubation, bolt and drain placements with Neurosurgery, and care for Neuro interventional patients in the future
