Key Responsibilities
- Providing direct patient care on specialized units
- Making rounds and monitoring telemetry rhythms
- Responding to patient condition changes
- Managing IV insertions and therapies
- Caring for neurology and stroke patients, including NIHSS assessments
- Participating in floating, weekend, and holiday coverage as required
- Completing pre-start modules prior to orientation
Qualifications And Skills
- Active Virginia or compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including travel nursing
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Proficiency in EPIC electronic health records
- Ability to pass an EKG/telemetry test with a score of 80% or higher
Preferred Skills
- Experience with neurology and stroke patients
- Proficiency in telemetry interpretation and IV insertion
- Comfort with patient ratios of 1:7
