Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg / Telemetry - $2,340 per week

About the Role

Travel nursing position for a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Med Surg / Telemetry at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, Louisiana. This is a 13-week assignment with 36 hours per week on 12-hour day shifts.

Unit Details

• 36-bed unit with 49 staff members
• Day Shift: 1 Charge RN, 3 RNs, 3 LPNs, 3 PCTs, and 1 secretary
• Night Shift: 1 Charge RN, 3 RNs, 3 LPNs, 3 PCTs
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 6:1
• Equipment used: IV pumps, Wound Vacs, SCD pumps, Kangaroo Pumps, Chest Tubes, Telemetry, PCA pumps, Bipaps, Epidurals
• EMR system in use

Responsibilities

• Perform typical procedures including wound vac changes, wound care, IV insertions, and insertion of indwelling Foley catheters
• Collaborate as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrate critical thinking and prioritization skills
• Adhere to unit guidelines and policies
• Work every other weekend shift
• Be on call when census is low
• Float to other units as needed (6A, 3A, 3South, 4South)

Requirements

• Active Nursing License
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• Med-Surg experience (required)
• Must be at least 50 miles from the facility for night shifts (7p-7a)
• Team player with strong critical thinking skills

Preferred skills (not required but advantageous):

• Prioritization skills
• Time management skills

Dress Code

Ceil blue scrubs; no sweatshirts or crocs permitted.
