About the role
Travel nursing position in Portland, Oregon, providing specialized patient care in a short-term acute care setting, primarily focusing on adult and geriatric patients. The role requires flexibility to float between units and adherence to unit procedures and safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care in medical-surgical and telemetry units
- Administer insulin and manage IVs
- Perform oral suctioning and manage colostomy/ileostomy care
- Care for patients with bowel obstructions
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and manage complex wound care
- Float between several medical-surgical units as needed
- Work holidays and potentially float to neighboring facilities
- Use Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
Requirements
- Valid Oregon state RN license
- At least 1 year of nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience with medical-surgical and telemetry patient care
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
- Must have a vehicle for this assignment
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in medical-surgical units and telemetry
- Experience with IV management and cardiac monitoring
- Familiarity with complex wound care
Schedule
- Nights shift, 12 hours per shift
- Minimum of 36 hours per week
Pay
Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
