Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $2,720 per week

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Wichita, Kansas.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs.
• Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients' families.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
• Aid physicians during examinations and treatments of patients.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed by the physician.

Requirements

• BLS, NIH, MAB, 2 Years
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years recent acute care experience.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Ability to easily lift up to 20 pounds.
• Experience lifting up to 50 pounds at times.
• Knowledge of a fast-paced environment treating patients that may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative.

Pay

The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 48.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
