Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $2,680 per week

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Morgantown, West Virginia. The position is for a Medical Surgical RN with an immediate opening, requiring 1-2 years of recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs.
• Perform ongoing assessments and provide appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients' families.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre‑ and post‑op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and aid the physician during examination and treatment of the patient.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan as prescribed by the physician.

Requirements

• Active RN license.
• BLS certification.
• 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience (minimum 2 years mentioned).
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
• Capable of lifting 20 pounds routinely; moving/lifting patients may require up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with patients who may be confused, agitated, or uncooperative.
