Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $2,345 per week

About the role

Medical Surgical Nursing in a large, level 2 or higher trauma center located in the area. This position involves caring for medical surgical patients, including surgical oncology cases, and requires collaboration with inter-professional colleagues. The role requires adherence to department standards, utilization of electronic medical records, and competence within the full scope of nursing expertise.

Responsibilities

• Care for medical surgical patients, including surgical oncology cases

• Float to other units and departments as needed within the facility

Requirements

• Active ND or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license (specify state in comments)
• At least 2 years of recent Medical Surgical (MS) experience in a hospital with 200+ beds
• BLS (American Heart Association)
• EPIC electronic health record experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Level 2 or higher trauma certification or experience preferred
• Surgical oncology experience preferred but not required

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend and holiday
• Minimum 36 hours per week

Work setting details

• Department capacity: 47 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 5:1 during the day and 6:1 at night
• Orientation includes a one-day lead center training followed by two 12-hour shifts with a preceptor
• Badge in and out at the facility; wear navy blue scrubs

Travel and location

• No travelers living within 60 miles of the facility; local travel rate applies for those within 60–80 miles
• Candidates living within 80 miles are considered local
