Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $2,301 per week

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Appleton, Wisconsin. Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs.
• Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients' families.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician.

Requirements

• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• 1‑2 years recent acute care experience
• 3 years experience (as stated)
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
• Ability to lift 20 pounds easily; moving/lifting patients may require up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment treating patients that may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative
