Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $2,235 per week

Job Summary

The organization is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical Floor for a facility located in Portland, ME. This position involves providing patient‑centered care within a busy clinical environment, supporting both medical and surgical patients on a predominantly nights shift schedule. Candidates with recent acute care experience and charting expertise are preferred to meet the demands of this role.

Schedule

• Shift: Nights, 12‑hour shifts
• Minimum of 36 hours per week
• Start Date: 10/05/2026
• End Date: 01/04/2027 (13‑week assignment)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license
• BLS certification
• Recent acute care experience
• Charting / electronic medical record experience (Epic)
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• Located within a reasonable distance to the facility

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with a mix of medical and surgical patients
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team
• Punctuality and reliability

• Unit size: 46 beds
• Patient ratio: 1:8
• Equipment includes specialty beds, Philips monitors, overhead lifts, bladder scanners, hover mats, and various specialized beds and mobility aids
• EMR system: Epic
• Dress code: Professional scrubs in any color, fragrance‑free; prohibited attire includes artificial nails, hoodies, graphic t‑shirts, open‑toed shoes, or unprofessional grooming

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
