Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $2,215 per week

Job Summary

The Medical Surgical Floor (MS) registered nurse position is located in Wausau, Wisconsin. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care in a fast-paced post-surgical unit, supporting pre- and post-operative adult and geriatric patients. The position offers a rotating 12-hour shift schedule with day and night variables, beginning on 08/03/2026, with a guaranteed minimum of 36 hours per week.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour Day/Night variable shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week
• Float: Float to all inpatient units; on-call/back requirements do not apply; unit will typically low census in 4-hour increments, and travelers may work only 4 or 8 hours of the shift
• Care is provided in a 40-bed inpatient post-surgical unit that supports pre- and post-op care for adult and geriatric patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 or 1:5 during day/evening shifts and 1:5-7 at night
• Unit has an occupancy rate of 90-95% on weekdays, with an average length of stay of 2-3 days (except joint procedures)
• The RN must be capable of multitasking and prioritizing patient needs based on acuity, working effectively as a team

Required Qualifications

• Wisconsin registered nurse license
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC
• 2+ years of medical surgical experience with recent hospital practice
• Trauma level II experience
• Epic charting experience
• Minimum 1 year of experience
