About the role
Medical Surgical Nurses provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles. This role involves coordinating with the healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans, administering medications, monitoring patient status, assisting with procedures, and educating patients and their families. The position is based at the Riverton campus and requires a compassionate, detail-oriented registered nurse with a foundation in medical-surgical care.
Responsibilities
- Perform bedside care
- Administer medications
- Participate in discharge planning
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
- Coordinate with the healthcare team
- Monitor patient status and assist with procedures
- Educate patients and their families
Requirements
- Valid Wyoming Registered Nurse (RN) license or multi-state RN license
- American Heart Association ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience
- EMR experience
- Must include SageWest coversheet with submission
- Must use the specified submission template and attach all required documentation
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a hospital or medical-surgical setting (preferred)
- Experience with electronic health records (preferred)
- Additional certifications in related specialties (advantageous)
Schedule
- Days shift, 12-hour shifts
- Minimum of 36 hours per week
