TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Casper, Wyoming. Specialty: Med Surg; Discipline: RN; Duration: 13 weeks; 36 hours per week; Shift: 12 hours, days; Employment Type: Travel. The right RN should have 1-2 years recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs.
• Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients' families.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
