Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $1,966 per week

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Saginaw, Michigan. The position is for a Medical Surgical RN with an immediate opening. The right candidate should have 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience. As a MedSurg RN you will conduct patient assessments, prioritize data collection based on patients’ immediate conditions, perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician, document patient findings, and provide education and support to patients’ families.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre‑ and post‑op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and aid the physician during examination and treatment of the patient.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan as prescribed by the physician.
• Stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
• Easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds at times.
• Work in a fast‑paced environment treating patients that may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative.

Requirements

• BLS certification.
• 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience (minimum 2 years preferred).
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.

Schedule

Duration: 13 weeks; 36 hours per week; shift: 12 hours, days.
