Medical Surgical Nurse (MS) for a hospital located in Hermitage, Tennessee. This role involves providing patient care on a Medical Surgical floor with a patient ratio of 6:1 during day shifts. The position emphasizes procedures performed on the unit, adherence to unit-specific policies, and maintaining a high standard of patient experience. The assignment offers an opportunity to work with advanced equipment, new technology, and experienced staff in a dynamic environment. The unit operates on a 33-bed capacity with a staffing model of three technicians per shift. Equipment used includes IVs, Kangaroo pumps, and sequential compression devices (SCDs). The unit maintains specific patient ratios and adheres to unit-specific policies and dress code. It offers new equipment, a dedicated and experienced team, and scheduling flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care on a Medical Surgical floor with a 6:1 patient ratio during day shifts
- Perform procedures on the unit
- Adhere to unit-specific policies
- Maintain a high standard of patient experience
- Work with advanced equipment and new technology
- Float to other appropriate areas as needed
Requirements
- Valid nursing license
- BSN or ADN degree in Nursing
- 1 year of clinical experience
- Tennessee licensure
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Medical Surgical nursing
- Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
