Med Ninjas is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Sioux City, Iowa.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: Med SurgDiscipline: RNStart Date: ASAPDuration: 13 weeks36 hours per weekShift: 12 hours, daysEmployment Type: TravelJob Summary (List Format): - Serve as a Med Surg/Oncology RN traveler, contributing professional clinical knowledge as part of an interdisciplinary team. - Care for a variety of patients, including those with orthopedic, urology, general surgery, oncology, and medical conditions. - Use EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system. - Orientation dates available: 10/26 and 11/9. - Required to work 2 out of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day); limited time off permitted during holiday windows. - Standard shift: 36–40 hours/week (OT after 40); 48 hours/week schedule (OT after 48 hours). - Compensation for OT/Holiday at 1.15x, Call Back at 1.5x (2-hour minimum), On Call at $9/hr, Charge/Precept at $6/hr. - No local candidates accepted (must live 50+ miles from facility). - Separation policy restricts recent UPH employees from travel assignments in other markets. - May be required to float within the same discipline across local campuses. - Required experience: 2+ years Med Surg and/or Oncology RN, high-acuity care preferred. - Required skills: Heparin, PCA, epidural drips; chemo if certified. - Accepts first-time travelers; travel experience preferred. - Required credentials: Active Iowa RN license (or compact), BLS (AHA, ARC, or Military), ACLS (AHA, ARC, or Military), NIHSS (can be obtained during onboarding), valid driver’s license. - Required documentation: Work history, Med Surg skills checklist, supervisory reference within 2 years. - Scrub color: Navy Blue. - Facility: UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s, Sioux City, IA (Level 3 Trauma Center). - For more facility info: [UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s](Med Ninjas Job ID #17789.
