Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $1,887 per week

About the role

Travel nurse RN Med Surg position on a 60-bed Medical Surgical Unit with mixed acuity (post-surgical, trauma, stroke, inpatient hospice). 13-week assignment, 36 hours per week, 12-hour day shifts. Start ASAP.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered, evidence-based nursing care on a fast-paced 60-bed Medical Surgical Unit with mixed acuity, including post-surgical, trauma, stroke, and inpatient hospice patients.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care based on comprehensive patient assessments.
• Ensure effective, holistic care delivery that prioritizes patient safety and positive outcomes.
• Participate in shared governance through involvement with the Unit Based Council to foster a healthy, team-oriented work environment.
• Demonstrate clinical expertise and serve as a resource and professional role model for peers.
• Communicate effectively using SBAR and other interdisciplinary communication tools.
• Maintain productivity and contribute to team performance through strong time management and assisting others as needed.
• Pursue ongoing professional development through certification, advanced education, and literature review.
• Adhere to McLaren Northern’s strict attendance policy (3-strike rule for absences/tardiness).
• Perform additional duties as assigned by unit leadership.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent straight medical-surgical RN experience (not float, not SDU/TELE)
• Trauma level I or II experience required
• BLS (AHA) certification
• Active Michigan RN license at time of submission
• Travel experience preferred

Pay
