About the role
The Professional Staff Nurse is a registered nurse and a crucial member of the care delivery team. This role is responsible for setting the standards for the level and quality of nursing care, managing patient care activities, and ensuring collaborative relationships with healthcare providers, patients, and their families to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Perform in accordance with system-wide competencies and actively participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Utilize evidence-based practice to enhance clinical care and influence patients' plans of care.
- Apply the nursing process within Relationship Based Care to improve the patient experience.
- Communicate effectively with team members, articulating patient conditions and recommendations for care changes.
- Engage as a full partner on the care team, responding to team member needs and adapting to change.
- Provide detailed education to patients and families regarding care plans and transitions.
- Foster open dialogue and continuous development by seeking feedback and enhancing practices.
- Develop productive working relationships by demonstrating accountability, motivation, and commitment to care.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Clearances per PA Act 31, 33, 34, and 73.
Schedule
This is a rotating shift position, working 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week (10-hour shifts, 4 days a week).
