Travel Nurse RN - Labor and Delivery - $3,842 per week

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Tacoma, WA. The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse provides comprehensive patient care in the obstetric setting, assessing maternal and fetal health, administering treatments, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure high‑quality, patient‑centered care during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period. This role requires strong clinical skills in obstetrics, critical thinking, excellent communication, and a commitment to patient safety and professional ethics.

Schedule

Start date: 11/02/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Hours: 48 per week (12‑hour night shifts).

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care
• Respond to obstetric emergencies, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress, using evidence‑based protocols
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
