This assignment involves providing specialized maternity care in a Level 2 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The role requires delivering comprehensive patient care during labor, delivery, and postpartum, ensuring safety and positive outcomes for mothers and newborns. Job Details Location: 2801 Debarr Road, Anchorage, Alaska 99508 Position: Travel RN in Labor and Delivery department Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week Start Date: 08/24/2026 Required Qualifications: RN license, BLS certification, ACLS certification, NRP certification, AWHONN intermediate fetal monitoring certification, 1 year labor and delivery experience, labor triage experience, QMP or operating room circulator experience (e.g., C-section, tubal ligation, D&C, vaginal repair), newborn resuscitation training, and ability to work with GE and Centricity Perinatal EMR systems Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IUPC/FSE placement, assistance with JADA/COOKS/BAKRI placement, and familiarity with common procedures such as induction of labor, vaginal delivery, cesarean sections, tubal ligation, labor triage, antepartum care, D&C, vaginal repair, NST, IUFD, steroid injections, and external cephalic version Additional Information: The unit has 7 beds with a minimum staff of 3 per shift, including 2 RNs and 1 OB Surgical Technician. The staffing follows AWHONN acuity ratios. The unit includes a Level 2 NICU with patients as low as 32 weeks gestation and 1500 grams. Nurses may float as a Patient Care Technician during low census periods. Scrub uniforms are royal blue; provided by the facility. Weekend and on-call shifts are scheduled as needed, but call is not required.
