About the role
Travel Labor and Delivery Nursing position in Fort Morgan, Colorado. The role involves providing specialized care in the Labor and Delivery unit, focusing on pregnant women, newborns, and gynecologic surgical patients. The team includes in-house obstetricians and neonatologists available 24/7, with anesthesiology on-site during regular hours and on-call after hours. The unit handles approximately 200 deliveries per year and is equipped with CPAP, BiPAP, and bubble CPAP. Telemetry monitors are used, with RNs expected to read their own strips using the OBIX system.
Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts (6 p.m. to 6 a.m.)
- Minimum of 36 hours per week
- Self-scheduling permitted with some flexibility
- Weekend work: half of all weekends
- Holiday shifts required during the winter season
- Occasional float to medical-surgical units
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized care for pregnant women, newborns, and gynecologic surgical patients
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Triage and function as a baby catcher/transition nurse (preferred)
- Read telemetry strips using the OBIX system
Requirements
- American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience following AWHONN guidelines for ratios
- Ability to triage and function as a baby catcher/transition nurse
