Travel Nurse RN - Labor and Delivery - $2,578 per week

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse to join a high-performing Women's Health team in Richmond, Virginia. This position provides compassionate, evidence-based care to mothers and newborns throughout the labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum process. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced obstetrical environment and thrives as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team focused on delivering exceptional maternal and neonatal care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for laboring, delivering, postpartum, and newborn patients.
• Perform ongoing maternal and fetal assessments and recognize changes in patient condition.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
• Monitor fetal heart tracings and maternal status throughout labor.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and blood products in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
• Assist physicians and certified nurse midwives during vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, newborn care, breastfeeding, and discharge planning.
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, neonatal teams, lactation consultants, and ancillary staff.
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in the electronic medical record.
• Promote patient safety while maintaining compliance with hospital policies and evidence-based practice standards.

Requirements

• Active RN license
• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Current BLS certification
• ACLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring certification preferred (or required per facility policy)
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced obstetrical environment

Schedule

• 13-Week Contract
• 36 Hours Per Week
• 3x12-Hour Night Shifts
• Overtime: Paid after 36 hours

Pay

• Estimated Weekly Pay: Up to $2,578/week
• Taxable Hourly Rate: $37.00/hour
• Weekly Taxable Income: $1,332
• Housing Stipend (Tax-Free): $770/week
• Meals & Incidentals Stipend (Tax-Free): $476/week
• Total Weekly Tax-Free Stipends: $1,246
