About the role
This unit provides labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum, and newborn (LDRPN) services. The OB Triage function is included here if performed by staff in this department. Ambulatory birthing centers are excluded.

Responsibilities
- Delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards and the nursing process.
- Supervises and directs activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinates care with other disciplines using critical thinking and independent judgment.
- Collects relevant data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation.
- Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues.
- Develops and implements a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes.
- Coordinates care delivery and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
- Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes and identifies outcomes for the patient or situation.
- Collaborates with the patient, family, and healthcare team in a safe, healing, humane, and caring environment.
- Provides learning opportunities for patients, family members, and team members.
- Directly provides health information to patients, families, and treatment teams.
- Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
- Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice (California) – required
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – required
- 2 years of Labor and Delivery (LD) experience
- ACLS certification – required
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (CERT-FHM) certification – required
- SSN and date of birth required for compliance
- 1 reference from the last 12 months
Pay
Pay Rate: $2,460.00 - $2,586.00 per week. Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
