Travel Nurse RN - Labor and Delivery - $2,344 per week
About the Role
Malone Healthcare is seeking a Travel Nurse RN specializing in Labor and Delivery for a 13-week assignment in Shreveport, Louisiana. This position offers 36 hours per week with 12-hour night shifts.
Responsibilities
- Manage laboring patients with ratios of 1:2 (laboring) and 1:1 (active labor).
- Circulate on C-sections and provide outpatient triage.
- Administer Magnesium Sulfate therapy and manage postpartum hemorrhage care, including blood administration and use of the Jada device.
- Perform balloon, Cytotec, and Pitocin inductions.
- Provide couplet care (mother-baby).
- Float to Postpartum unit for couplet care as needed.
- Adhere to on-call requirements: 2 shifts per month (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM).
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience (first-time travelers accepted).
- Active RN license.
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, NRP, and FHM.
- Proficiency with Meditech Expanse EMR, GE Centricity Perinatal, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis.
- Ability to work every-other weekend rotation and comply with facility policies.
Unit Overview
The 10-bed L&D unit is part of an 85-licensed-bed facility featuring a Level 3 NICU and Birth Ready Designation. Patient types include antepartum, laboring patients, and OB ED triage.
Dress code: Pewter scrubs. Free parking is available in designated areas.
