About the Role

DT-Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Travel Nurse RN specializing in Infection Control for a 13-week assignment in Gallup, New Mexico. This contract position offers a blended hourly rate of $74.15, including $43.00/hr taxable pay and $1,246/wk per diem, totaling $2,966 weekly gross pay. A one-time $500 travel allowance is provided. Any state license is accepted.

Schedule

  • Duration: 13 weeks (ends 12/31/2026)
  • 40 hours per week
  • 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday
  • Occasional evening and weekend coverage as needed

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in reviewing and developing clinical practices to ensure compliance with infection control regulations, serving as an expert clinician and role model.
  • Apply relevant research findings to infection control services, including initiating, conducting, and disseminating locally based research in infection prevention practices, treatments, and disease management.
  • Monitor and document surveillance and performance improvement activities through scheduled and impromptu rounds, tracer rounds, and quality control checks to ensure staff compliance with infection prevention standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments on hospital performance improvement activities; maintain records, data, and correspondence related to Performance Improvement and Infection Control programs.
  • Develop and maintain spreadsheets and database applications for tracking infection control data.
  • Analyze surveillance data for deviations from expected baselines and initiate appropriate actions to protect patients or employees.
  • Ensure the infection control program complies with TJC, CMS, OSHA, CDC, IHS, and GSU standards and policies.
  • Conduct surveillance of patients to determine infection incidence, identify hospital- and community-acquired infections, and assess high-risk individuals.
  • Participate in clinical/patient rounds and complete medical record reviews as needed.
  • Work with unit nurses on follow-up of hospital-acquired infections.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience related to Infection Prevention.
  • Certification Requirements: BLS and Certified Infection Control Preventionist (CIC) credential.
  • Division of Quality Management – Infection Control experience preferred.
