About the role

Travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit position at Lewisgale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia. Start date 10/26/2026, duration 13 weeks, 36 hours per week, 12‑hour night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in a 12‑bed Neuro Trauma ICU with patient ratio 1:2.
• Work alongside unit secretaries, techs, and one full‑time paramedic.
• Utilize equipment including Baxter pumps, GE monitors, Belmont rapid infuser, Bair Hugger, Bucks traction.
• Document using Expanse Meditech.
• Adhere to flexible scheduling that includes holidays and weekends.
• Follow floating policy: may float to Med‑Surg, PCU, ED, Rehab with a capped 4:1 ratio.
• Complete bedside shift handoff and maintain whiteboards for patient experience.
• Assist with procedures such as EVD/bot placement, lumbar puncture, central line insertion, arterial line insertion, rapid sequence intubation, bronchoscopy, percutaneous trach insertion, chest tube insertion.

Requirements

• Current RN license.
• Certifications: TNCC, ACLS, BLS required; PALS preferred.
• Must have experience with vents, A‑line, TVP, central lines.
• Requested skill set: Neuro devices (EVD, lumbar drain, ICP monitoring).

Skills

• Advanced skills: ability to assist with EVD/bolt placement, lumbar puncture, central line insertion, arterial line insertion, rapid sequence intubation, bronchoscopy, percutaneous trach insertion, chest tube insertion.
• Proficiency with neuro‑monitoring equipment and infusion devices.
