Travel Nurse RN - ICU - Intensive Care Unit - $2,455 per week

About the role

Cross Country Nurses seeks a travel nurse RN for an ICU - Intensive Care Unit assignment in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The position starts 10/19/2026 for 13 weeks, requiring 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts. The role is based in a 30‑bed medical‑surgical unit with capacity for double beds depending on COVID volume, including progressive care and non‑COVID wings.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care to a diverse ICU patient population, including patients requiring mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, moderate sedation, chest tube management, and cardiac monitoring.
• Deliver expert bedside care in a fast‑paced environment, supporting patient safety and outcomes.
• Collaborate with case managers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other specialists to provide patient‑centered care.
• Float to Med‑Surg units as needed for coverage.
• Complete orientation including telemetry and mechanical ventilation competency validation, online modules, and preceptor‑guided shifts.

Qualifications

• Valid RN license in a state with Compact or single‑state licensure.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in an ICU or similar environment.

Schedule

• Night shifts, 12‑hour shifts.
• Minimum 36 hours per week.
• Every other weekend or holiday required.
