Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) care in Marshfield, WI. This position involves providing high-acuity patient care in a highly equipped Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), handling complex cases including cardiovascular, trauma, neurosurgery, and various surgical patients. The role requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and adherence to established clinical protocols to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-acuity patient care in a 16-bed SICU with 2 procedural beds
- Handle complex cases including cardiovascular, trauma, neurosurgery, and various surgical patients
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
- Adhere to established clinical protocols to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Float between SICU and MICU if needed
- Serve as a patient observer as per operational needs
- Clock in and out at the facility
- Complete orientation including one-day onboarding and two training shifts with skills checklists
Schedule
- Night shifts, 12-hour shifts
- Minimum of 36 hours per week
- Self-scheduling available, centered on unit staffing needs with flexible weekend and holiday shifts
- Most shifts primarily nocturnal and variable in timing
- Start date: 08/17/2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- NIHSS certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred
- Experience with high-acuity patient populations, including cardiac, trauma, neurosurgery, vascular, and general surgical patients
- Familiarity with titratable drips such as Epi, Norepinephrine, Propofol, Precedex, Vasopressin, Dobutamine, Heparin, Insulin, Dopamine, Neo, and Milrinone
Unit Information
- Level 2 trauma center
- 16-bed SICU plus 2 procedural beds
- Staffing includes a charge nurse, hospitalist or intensivist in-house 24/7, RT available around the clock
- Telemetry monitoring with GE monitors
- No specific scrub color required; professionalism in attire is necessary
- Clinicians previously employed at the facility should have their end date at least 6 months prior to submission
- Note any prior employment with Marshfield during the submission process
