Travel Nurse RN - ICU - Intensive Care Unit - $2,310 per week

Travel nursing assignment in Omaha, Nebraska for an ICU (Intensive Care Unit) registered nurse. Duration: 20 weeks starting 08/31/2026.

About the role

The ICU registered nurse provides specialized critical care to patients with diagnoses such as COPD, pneumonia, CVA, TIA, DKA, sepsis, CHF, STEMI, and neurological emergencies. Responsibilities include managing complex patient conditions, titrating drips, and interpreting telemetry monitors in a 24/7 critical care environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage ventilators and equipment such as BiPAP, Cpap, and High Flow
• Read telemetry strips and titrate complex drips including vasopressors, insulin, TNK, heparin, IV antibiotics, and sedatives
• Provide care in a fast-paced ICU with patient ratios of 1:2 (adjusting to 1:5 for medical patients and 1:4 for Progressive Care Unit)
• Float to PCU and medical floors as needed
• Pass a skills exam during orientation with a 90% passing score and complete an open-book exam

Requirements

• Valid RN license
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of experience in ICU or similar setting
• Must meet radius requirement of 50 miles and not be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN at any associated facility

Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts (0630-1900 or 1830-0700)
• 36 hours per week minimum
• Every other holiday; RTO requests of 7 days or less per 13-week contract permitted
• Orientation includes 1 week of system training and 1-2 days of unit-specific training

Unit Details

• Critical care coverage 24/7 with in-house hospitalists/intensivists and continuous E-ICU staffing
• Nurses work with patient care technicians; additional techs provided as needed
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
• Charting system: EPIC
