Travel Nurse RN - ICU - Intensive Care Unit - $2,196 per week
About the role
The Nursing Resource Team (NRT) is a hospital-wide float department that serves the ER, ICU, PCU & Med Surg service lines. This position is responsible for caring for a wide range of patient populations as a member of the NRT, maintaining a high level of adaptability and understanding in each unit.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a member of the NRT, caring for a wide range of patient populations in various care areas.
- Maintains a high level of adaptability and understanding in each unit.
- Works in a variety of care areas hospital wide, including medical-surgical, progressive care, the emergency department, and critical care units.
- Cares for ED pod patients and cares for ED or boarded patients, taking a true ER patient assignment.
- Provides relationship based care, engaging fully within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making to achieve quality patient care.
- Uses best current evidence in clinical practice and uses data to monitor and improve the outcomes of care processes.
- Communicates effectively using information and technology to support decision-making.
- Works in a float pool position, required to float to ER, ICU, PCU & Med Surg, and can float mid-shift if needed.
Requirements
- Graduate of a nationally accredited Nursing program (BSN or ASN accepted).
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience within the last 2 years at a Level I or Level II Trauma facility.
- Some prior experience working in or floating to PCU and MedSurg, feeling comfortable with those ratios.
- Experience with cardiac drips and non-invasive ventilation.

Pay
Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
Schedule
NRT float RNs and traveler RNs have a consistent schedule and know when they work; the unit RNs will receive a message 2 hours prior to their shift, telling them on which unit they are assigned. This is a Float Pool position.
Bed Size/Number of Rooms
21-35 beds, depending upon the unit in which they are working.

- ICU: 1:1-2
- Med/Surg & ED boarded Med/Surg: 1:5-6
- PCU: 1:3-4
