Travel Nurse RN - ICU - Intensive Care Unit - $2,113 per week

Prime Time Healthcare Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU – Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing assignment in Louisville, Kentucky. The unit is a 24‑bed CCU/ICU caring for 8–16 ICU patients plus approximately 8 step‑down patients daily, with a 1:1–1:3 nurse‑to‑patient ratio and Cerner EMR.

Responsibilities

• Provide ventilator‑dependent critical care
• Manage sepsis, ECMO, CRRT, post‑PCI/cardiac procedures, pulmonary embolism, post‑thrombectomy & post‑stroke patients
• Operate and monitor ventilators & trachs, titrate drips, CRRT, balloon pumps, Swan‑Ganz, chest tubes, tube feeds
• Perform DKA management and invasive hemodynamic monitoring
• Float as needed to PCU, Med/Surg, and Telemetry units
• Utilize Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell, Philips monitors, Arctic Sun, EKOS, Penumbra & pacers
• Collaborate with 24/7 intensivist, dedicated respiratory therapist, on‑site ICU midlevel providers, charge RN, CNA/PCA, phlebotomy, telemetry tech & HUC support
• Complete facility orientation plus 1–2 unit shifts; wear Galaxy Blue scrubs; enjoy free parking

Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of ICU RN experience
• First‑time travelers accepted
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications
• Strong ICU background with ventilators & trachs, titrating drips, CRRT, balloon pumps, Swan‑Ganz, chest tubes, tube feeds, DKA management
• Experience with ventilator‑dependent critical care, sepsis, ECMO, CRRT, post‑PCI/cardiac procedures, pulmonary embolism, post‑thrombectomy & post‑stroke patients, balloon pumps and invasive hemodynamic monitoring
• No open thoracic case experience required

Schedule

• 12‑hour day shifts: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
• 36 hours per week
• No more than every other weekend
• No call
• Holidays based on unit needs
• Block scheduling considered (RTO requires manager approval)
