About the role

Travel nursing position for a Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) specializing in Davinci Robotics in the Main Operating Room. This role combines circulating/scrub duties with RNFA responsibilities. No weekends, but includes evening call and rotating holiday requirements.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the surgeon and healthcare team to perform safe operations with optimal patient outcomes
• Practice perioperative nursing with specialized knowledge and skills in the operating room and RNFA role
• Perform duties under the direction of the surgeon during the operative phase
• Fulfill OR staff RN duties when not assigned in RNFA role
• Assist in robotic surgical procedures across multiple specialties (Urology, GYN, Colorectal, Surgical Oncology, Thoracic, General Surgery)

Requirements

• Active NYS license as a Registered Professional Nurse
• Completion of an accredited RN First Assistant course
• CNOR certification (required)
• Two (2) years of OR experience; level 1 trauma experience preferred
• Davinci robotic surgery experience required across the following specialties:
  • Robotic Urology
  • Robotic GYN
  • Robotic Colorectal
  • Robotic Surgical Oncology (whipples, gastrectomies, hernias, etc.)
  • Robotic Thoracic
  • Robotic general surgery (gall bladders, appendectomies)

Qualifications

• BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY, required)
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY, preferred)
• Proficient in perioperative nursing practice with preferred scrubbing and circulating experience

Schedule

• 14-hour day shifts
• 48 hours per week
• Evening call and rotating holiday requirements
