Unit Details
- Number of Beds: 2 endoscopy suites
- Patient Ratios:
- 1:1 for circulator
- Up to 2 patients for PACU
- Preop 1:1 during preop questioning but may be up to 1:3 if waiting
- Unit staffing description:
- 1 Circulator and 1 tech in the room
- Scope washer designated for the shift
Equipment and Documentation
- Type of equipment: Olympus scopes, OER elite washer, ION robot
- Documentation system: Meditech Expanse and Provation
Scheduling and Floating
- Scheduling requirements: Ranges from 6 a–3 p Monday–Friday based on assignment
- Floating policy: Float to the ASC and other surrounding facilities as needed
Patient Experience Requirements
- Requested Skill Set: RNs to circulate and tech
Required Credentials and Experience
- Must have: Ability to do advanced procedures such as ERCP and EUS
- Credentials and experience more than 1 year according to scope of practice
Advanced Skills Needed
- Able to do ERCP, EUS, Robotic bronchoscopy, EBUS
Procedures Performed on Unit
- Colonoscopy, EGD, Pill Cam, Bravos, ERCP, EUS, EBUS, ION, bronchoscopy
