Travel Nurse RN - Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma

Key Responsibilities

• Triage and assess patients: perform initial evaluations, prioritize care based on severity, and monitor vital signs.
• Provide emergency care: administer medications, perform wound care, and execute life-saving procedures such as CPR and ACLS.
• Collaborate with healthcare team: develop care plans, assist with diagnostics, and communicate patient status effectively.
• Maintain infection control and safety protocols: follow PPE guidelines and respond to biohazard situations.
• Communicate with patients and families: explain diagnoses, offer emotional support, and advocate for patient needs.
• Manage crises: handle emergencies with critical thinking, prioritize care, and operate under high-pressure conditions.
• Discharge planning: provide instructions, education, and follow-up guidance.
• Support team and mentorship: work with ER staff, mentor new team members, and ensure coordinated patient care.

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification
• Successful competency exam completion
• Experience in ER setting
