About the role

We are seeking a travel nurse RN for the Emergency Department at Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina. This role involves working in a high-volume, Level 2 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center with over 100,000 ED visits annually.

Unit Specifics

• Number of Beds: 101
• Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1 (medical), up to 7:1 on ED behavioral holds
• Unit staffing includes techs (cardiac monitoring unit, internal processing area, triage) and unit clerks (days and nights)
• Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
• Documentation system: Cerner
• Scheduling requirements: Every other weekend; no block scheduling; must meet department needs
• Floating policy: No floating outside the ED, but must be open to floating to all sections within the ED
• Patient Experience requirements: AIDET, respectful behavior, patient experience focus for each patient, boards updated with information, and patient updates throughout visit

Hospital Specifics

• Certifications required before start date: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire

Requirements

• 2 years’ experience in a Level 2 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center
• Experience in a high-volume ED (>100,000 visits)
• 2 years’ nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting
• Teamwork mentality with ability to coach and give real-time feedback
• Flexibility to work in all areas of the ED
• Previous HCA experience preferred
