Travel Nurse RN - ED - Emergency Department - $2,482 per week

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for the Emergency Department (ED) in Farmington, Connecticut. This is a 12‑week travel assignment requiring 36 hours per week (12‑hour evening shifts) under a travel employment type. The role is for an Emergency Room RN with 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse team of caregivers to evaluate, triage, and implement care using correct procedures and physician instructions.
• Care for patients in a fast‑paced, urgent, and emergency environment.
• Perform minor medical operations.
• Advise patients and family on illnesses or injuries.
• Plan long‑term care needs.
• Document medical history.
• Check for patient allergies.
• Obtain patient vital signs.
• Monitor patients’ emotional and physical well‑being.
• Provide basic bedside care.
• Clean and bandage wounds.
• Provide IV therapy.
• Maintain supplies and medical equipment.
• Report suspected abuse to appropriate agencies.
• Stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Easily lift 20 pounds; move or lift patients requiring up to 50 pounds at times.
• Possess good stress‑coping skills and relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.
