Malone Healthcare - Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Missouri Valley, Iowa.
Job Description
RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated
Radiance Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
Driver's License
Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.

PROFILE REVIEW+MANAGER INTERVIEW
- mostly MedSurg with float to ED - Beds: 14 - Ratios: 1:5-6 - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: CHF, pneumonia, skilled patients for PT/OT, ATB / This is a MedSurg floor with no consultation services. At times will admit cardiac or diabetic Progressive Care level patients - Are RNs required to titrate drips?: No - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Antibiotics - Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes - Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes, 1:10 - Shifts & Scheduling: 630-7 / manager will do schedule - Weekend Requirement: At least every third weekend - Holiday Requirement: Will rotate with core staff where there is a need - Floating Requirements: To ED for support
Scrubs
- Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract
- Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided?: Navy Blue
Orientation
- Provide 5 star quality, ranked in the top 20 Critical Access Hospitals, and have full TeleHospital medicine services
- Staff is an experienced small team and nice to work alongside
- Travelers need to be able to work with a strong team but be independent enough to work alone with decreased resources in a critical access hospital
- They need to be a patient and department advocate focused on quality and safe patient care, need to be able to critically think and prioritize care
- Attributes that will help make a nurse successful on this unit are flexibility, adaptability, and confidence in their nursing skills
