This position involves providing acute care in a Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department. The role requires clinical expertise in handling a diverse patient population, including critically ill and trauma patients, with a focus on rapid assessment and intervention. The RN will work with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Job Details Shift Time: Evenings, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week. Certification Requirements: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC or TNS. Education/Experience: Illinois nursing license, at least 2 years of RN experience, and prior travel assignment preferred. Department: Emergency Room (ER) with trauma level 1, 65 beds, private rooms, and 2 trauma bays. Nursing Ratios and Staff: Patient ratios range from 1:3 to 1:5, with ED techs at 1:9. The team includes Medical Doctors (MDs) and Mid-Levels, with a minimum of 3 attendings at all times. Clinical Responsibilities: Managing a wide variety of patient conditions, including critical illness, cardiac emergencies, strokes, trauma, and patient stabilization. Equipment and Procedures: Troubleshooting ventilators, BIPAP, CPAP, high-flow oxygen devices; interpreting cardiac rhythms; drawing labs; titrating various medication drips such as vasopressors, cardiac, and antihypertensive drugs. Scheduling & Rotation: 12-hour shifts, with every other weekend requirement; flexibility for block scheduling is available. Float & Additional Notes: Float to assist other units occasionally; no specific scrub color required.
