Unit specifics

Number of Beds: 11
Patient Ratios: 1:4
Unit staffing: 2 RNs day shift, 2 RNs mid shift; techs added as needed for volume
Type of equipment: Carescape B450 cardiac monitors, Panda Warmer, Lifepak 15, Maquet Servo-s Mobilab, Teladoc for Neuro and behavioral health consults, Mac5500HD EKG, Pyxis
Documentation system: Meditech
Scheduling requirements: 3 × 12-hour shifts weekly with every-other-weekend requirement
Floating policy: Float as needed to other FSED units in the area
Patient Experience requirements: Communicate and obtain information while respecting rights and confidentiality of information; use of AIDET

Requirements

Minimum of one year of ED experience
Triage experience (must have)
Procedures performed on unit: IV therapy, incision and drainage, splint application, CPR, chest tube, intubation, lumbar puncture, arthrocentesis, sutures, wound care
Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, CPI
Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
