About the role
Iowa Methodist Medical Center, established in 1901, is a regional medical center and teaching hospital located in downtown Des Moines on a 42-acre campus. The facility employs nearly 4,000 people and has 370 staffed beds. It is well known for cancer care and is one of two Level I Trauma Centers in Iowa. Life Flight, the air ambulance program, has been operational since 1979.
The CVOR department features:
- 16 operating rooms
- 1,050 cases per month
- Variety of cases, including Level I Trauma
- Specialties: Open Heart, Kidney Transplant, Trauma, Ortho, Neuro, Robotics, ENT, General Surgery, Bariatrics, Pediatrics, Plastics, Urology, Vascular, Gynecology, Oncology
Responsibilities
- Perform as a Cardiovascular Operating Room Registered Nurse in a travel assignment
- Float to other areas within skillset as needed
- Work 2 out of 3 holidays during the period of 11/27-12/1 and 12/23-1/2
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- CVOR experience
- SSN and date of birth required
- One reference from the last 24 months
- VA Auto Offer: Offers must be accepted or declined within 48 hours
- Current License/Certification
- Flu and COVID vaccine required (medical or religious exceptions accepted)
- Epic EMR experience required
- One successful 13-week assignment completed
Pay
Pay Rate: $2,312.00 - $2,431.00 per week. Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
