Job Description

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Cardiac Cath Lab RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. The position involves providing specialized care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and interventional treatments. Key responsibilities include conducting assessments, assisting during procedures, operating and monitoring equipment, and supporting post-procedure care.

Requirements

  • One year’s recent experience as a Cath Lab RN
  • Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS (AHA/ ARC) Certification
  • Current ACLS Certification
  • PALS or ENPC Certifications (preferred)
  • RCIS certification (may be required for this position)

Essential Work Functions

  • Conduct assessment of patients prior to procedures
  • Absorb and perform physical exams
  • Position patients correctly for the procedure and ensure EKG electrodes and cardiac leads are properly placed
  • Assist physicians during procedures, including the placement of catheters, wires, balloons, stents, structural heart devices, and other cardiac interventions
  • Operate and monitor hemodynamic equipment, recognizing and responding to changes in cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic waveforms
  • Absorb and respond to changes in vital signs, ECG, and hemodynamic parameters during cardiac catheterization and interventional procedure
  • Maintain and troubleshoot cath lab equipment, ensuring everything is functioning properly and fully stocked for procedures
  • Communicate effectively with team members, patients, families, and physicians to provide seamless care
  • Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice

Qualifications

  • One year’s recent experience as a Cath Lab RN
  • Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
