Travel Nurse RN - Acute Care - $2,350 per week

About the Role

Fall River Health Services in Hot Springs, South Dakota is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for an Acute Care travel nursing assignment. Start date: 10/04/2026; duration: 13 weeks; 36 hours per week; 12‑hour rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective nursing care in accordance with the South Dakota Nurse Practice Act, facility policies, and professional standards.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans involving patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Administer medications, fluids, and respiratory treatments as prescribed.
• Recognize and interpret patient symptoms; report and respond promptly to changes in condition.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient status, interventions, and outcomes.
• Teach patients and families about medications, treatments, and ongoing care after discharge.
• Organize time and prioritize tasks effectively to provide timely patient care.
• Ensure infection control and safety policies are followed consistently.
• Provide leadership and guidance to assigned staff, ensuring continuity and quality of care.
• Assist in the orientation and training of new team members.
• Participate in continuing education to maintain and enhance professional competence.
• Support a positive and collaborative work culture through effective communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of South Dakota (or eligible for reciprocity).
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Commitment to patient‑centered care and continuous improvement.
• Prior acute care or hospital nursing experience preferred, but not required.
