Travel Nuclear Medicine Technologist - $2,902 per week

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Nuclear Medicine Technologist for an immediate 13‑week assignment in Rochester, NY. The position requires 1 year of experience and involves preparing radiopharmaceutical agents, administering them to patients, and operating scanners or gamma cameras to capture diagnostic images. The technologist provides technical support to physicians, researchers, and other healthcare providers in the diagnosis, care, and treatment of patients using radioactive drugs.

Responsibilities

• Attain required approval and signature by nuclear medicine physicians
• Transfer, position, and instruct patients in preparation for procedures
• Operate the scanner or gamma scintillation camera
• Perform procedures including injecting radiopharmaceuticals under the direct supervision of a radiologist
• Provide assistance to patients during procedures
• Ensure the environment is safe at all times for patients and staff by following safety and radiation disposal procedures
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
• BLS certification
• ARRT (N) National Certification with registration in Nuclear Medicine or NMTCB‑CNMT certification
• State‑specific licensing where required
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, and to bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment (e.g., ARRT (CT), 2 years experience noted in some requirements)
