About the role

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Internal Traveler) uses multidisciplinary skills to perform a variety of procedures using sealed and unsealed radionuclides, and radiation detecting equipment in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical exams accurately and in a timely fashion.
• Operate equipment, transfer patients to the exam table, correctly position patients for their exam, and provide a safe environment for the procedure.
• Perform and document quality control on all equipment to ensure it is within the calibration date, meets regulatory compliance standards, and verify it operates within the set specifications.
• Prepare, administer, dispose, and document radiopharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals, oral contrast, and IV contrast under the direction of the physician authorized user and the protocols set by the Medical Director of the department.
• Accurately document and maintain records of shipping, receiving, use, storage, and disposal of all radioisotopes per NRC, DEQ, and SFHS policies.
• Accurately document and maintain room surveys and wipe tests, bioassays, and assist in quality attainment programs.
