Junxion Med Staffing is seeking a NICU RN for a travel nursing assignment in Odessa, Texas. This 8-week assignment begins on September 8, 2026, with a requirement of 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Administer blood and blood products
  • Manage anti-seizure medications, antibiotics, and antivirals
  • Perform APGAR scoring
  • Manage arterial lines
  • Assist with lumbar punctures
  • Attend high-risk deliveries
  • Monitor blood glucose
  • Provide breastfeeding support and handle breast milk
  • Manage Bubble CPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
  • Perform central line blood draws and care
  • Provide developmental care
  • Administer feedings (bottle, breast, gavage)
  • Manage High Frequency Ventilation
  • Administer insulin and manage hyperbilirubinemia
  • Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
  • Administer IV vasopressors and manage chest tubes
  • Care for meconium aspiration cases
  • Provide care for Mother/Baby (if applicable)
  • Manage Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC)
  • Care for Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome
  • Perform neonatal dosage calculations
  • Manage neonatal sepsis
  • Care for neonates 29-34 weeks with NICU III experience
  • Administer Nitric Oxide (INo)
  • Manage various oxygen delivery systems
  • Provide patient and family teaching
  • Care for pediatric patients (if applicable)
  • Perform phlebotomy and phototherapy
  • Place and manage oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes
  • Manage respiratory distress syndrome
  • Conduct sepsis workups
  • Start and maintain IVs
  • Administer steroids and surfactants
  • Perform suctioning (ETT, NT)
  • Monitor telemetry on the unit
  • Provide therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket)
  • Manage thermoregulation
  • Place and manage Umbilical Artery Catheters (UAC) and Umbilical Vein Catheters (UVC)
  • Manage ventilators (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
  • Float to Pediatrics and Nursery departments as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of NICU experience
  • 3 years of overall nursing experience
  • Previous charge experience preferred
  • Previous travel experience required
  • Experience with a 3:1 patient ratio
  • Experience with Cerner charting system
  • 1 year of experience in profession for resume submission
  • Must be outside a 50-mile radius of Odessa, Texas (Local Rule)

Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support, if applicable)
  • STABLE (Post-resuscitation/pre-transport stabilization care)

Additional Details

  • Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
  • COVID-19 vaccine not required
  • Experience in High-risk Level III NICU settings
  • Request for Time Off (RTO) required with submission
  • Resume and compliance documents must be submitted by Tuesdays at 4:30pm CST

Pay

Estimated weekly pay includes projected hourly wages and weekly meal and lodging per diems for eligible clinicians based on nationally published GSA rates. Actual weekly pay and per diems may differ and may be subject to change during an assignment.
