Travel NICU RN - $1,997 per week

About the role

TotalMed is seeking a travel nurse RN for a NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care position in Richmond, Virginia. This is a 13-week travel nursing assignment with 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Care for infants transitioning to extra uterine life
• Monitor vital signs and initiate corrective action when necessary
• Provide nutritional assessment and specialized feedings
• Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs
• Provide arterial and intravenous therapy
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, such as incubators and ventilators
• Provide emotional encouragement and advise parents on proper infant care upon discharge
• Stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
• Easily lift 10-20 pounds of equipment at times

Requirements

• 1-2 years' recent acute care experience
• BLS certification
• NRP certification
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning assignment
