About the role
This is a 13-week travel contract position in a Level III and/or Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The schedule consists of 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 to 07:00), with the option to flex to a 4th shift if needed. The role requires working a minimum of every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and has the potential for overtime after 48 hours.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-level nursing care to neonates and infants in a NICU setting.
- Utilize skills in ventilator management and critical care techniques.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Monitor and assess patients, documenting all care appropriately in the electronic medical record.
- Educate families regarding patient conditions, treatments, and ongoing care requirements.
Requirements
- Valid NC State or Compact Licensure as a Registered Nurse.
- Two years of recent NICU experience preferred.
- Certifications required: BLS, NRP, and Stable.
- Experience with Meditech electronic medical records is preferred.

Pay
Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined. Contract and local rates may vary based on location and applicant residency.
